Teen Team Summer (Kids' Zone Volunteer program)
Teen Team: Youth Volunteer Program Civic engagement is an important step in the growth of our youth. The Teen Team program provides students with an exciting opportunity to volunteer in a positive environment while developing valuable leadership skills for school and home. Program Overview Students will volunteer at one of our three Kids' Zone sites under the direct supervision of Kids' Zone staff. Each teen will be encouraged to engage, develop, and build positive relationships with elementary students, their peers, and our staff members. Eligibility This opportunity is available for youth who have successfully completed 6th grade. Scheduling & Hours Days: Monday through Friday Time Commitment: A limit of 4 hours per day for volunteering will be strictly enforced. Flexibility: Schedules will be determined based on student availability. We look forward to helping your teen build leadership skills and give back to the community! -
FTC Robotics Team-Hermantown Middle School
Hermantown FIRST TECH CHALLENGE (FTC®) 2025-2026 competitive season Code, Design, and Compete with Robots! FIRST® Tech Challenge students work together with their mentors to design and build robots to compete in a dynamic and exciting challenge released every September. Teams program classroom-scale robots to follow autonomous commands before student drivers take control in two-on-two matches. On and off the field, students develop STEM skills, engage in community outreach, practice engineering innovation, and build confidence to help them succeed. Due to the popularity of this program, we are creating a second team this season! Who: Team selected students in grades 7-12, age 12-18 Dates: Sundays and Tuesdays starting September 7, 2025- February 15, 2026 Time: 5:30-8:30 PM in the MS Lecture hall and robotics room Cost: $200 Amelia Magnuson is the lead contact. This welcoming program encourages participants to learn from one another, share skills and life experiences, and build meaningful community connections—all while having fun together. *Students will be picked up and dropped off at Bay View Elementary School (Cafeteria). -

In this camp, we will make a multi-storied fairy home, furniture, and fairy dolls to go with it. Note to parents: Arrive at Ugstad Circle Doors in AM to be let into the building. Please pack sunscreen, a water bottle, and a small nut-free snack each day. Weather permitting, a portion of the class sessions may be spent outdoors. -

Kids will design and decorate their very own cactus using smooth stones, paint, and fun embellishments—no watering required 🌵 Each child will paint their stone cactus, add details like flowers or patterns, and take home a unique piece of art that lasts forever. This hands-on class encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and imagination in a fun, relaxed environment. All supplies are included, and no prior experience is needed. Perfect for kids who love art, painting, and making something special to display at home! Each child will bring home 5 hand painted pots. -

Minecraft Game Art Studio
Bring your Minecraft world to life with your own custom art! In Minecraft Game Art Studio, students will transform their love of the game into creative skills by designing player skins, themed texture packs, simple UI icons, and 2D sprites that can be exported and used at home. Along the way, they’ll learn the fundamentals of pixel art—like readability, color palettes, and tiling—while gaining beginner-friendly file skills to make their art usable beyond camp. Night at the Museum: Escape Room!
When the lights go out, the museum comes to life! In this fast‑paced escape room adventure, students become junior explorers racing to solve puzzles, crack codes, and uncover clues hidden throughout “exhibit” stations. From ancient artifacts to mysterious creatures to famous artworks that suddenly behave… strangely… each challenge brings them one step closer to unlocking the final door before time runs out. -
DASH NFL Flag Football Camp
DASH Sports officially licensed NFL flag football camps provide players with a well-rounded football experience in a little to no contact safe environment. Key elements of passing, catching, rushing, and defense will be taught and practiced daily, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with scrimmages/games the final day where players can showcase their skills. Each player has the option to add an official NFL Flag Jersey and flag belts to keep ($30 additional). Players that add the jersey and belts will pick the jersey of their favorite NFL team at the time of registration. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a snack (spikes/cleats, and mouthguards are optional). All other equipment is provided. -

This course is for students entering kindergarten in the fall of 2026. Follow "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle as he learns what Kindergarten is all about. This class is open to students entering kindergarten this fall (2026). Students will participate in a classroom filled with books, words, letters, numbers, and other instructional aids. Various learning centers will allow students to explore and interact socially. In addition to academic skills, students will work on projects promoting fine motor skills, handwriting, and independence. Finally, music, movement, and outdoor experiences will be a part of each day, ensuring wellness and group play. All classes will be held at the Bay View Elementary School. Additional information regarding drop-off and pickup procedures will be sent to registered families at a later date. -

This course is for students entering first grade in the fall of 2026. Students will participate in exciting classroom experiences to help them review and prepare for the first grade. Writing, reading, phonics, and math centers and mini-lessons will be provided daily. Small groups will also be used to help your child work on skills at their level as they review what was taught in Kindergarten. A short recess will be provided as an activity break each day. Please send a water bottle with your child. -

Participants will practice budgeting for needs and wants, planning a party, comparing prices, and even running a mini store. Along the way, they will learn how to make smart spending choices, understand basic budgeting, and build confidence using numbers in everyday situations. Thisinteractive class encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and practical math skills students can use in real life. -

In addition to academic skills, students will work on projects promoting fine motor skills, handwriting, and independence. Finally, music, movement, and outdoor experiences will be a part of each day ensuring wellness and group play. All classes will be held at the Pike Lake Elementary School.
