Focus on a more efficient way of living with specifically designed strength exercises while increasing your endurance with light cardio. Each session includes a warmup and cool down where we'll focus on balance and flexibility. No equipment is needed; however if you have a pair of light weights, please bring them to class! AARP Smart Driver course participants will learn: Proven safety strategies and valuable defensive driving skills How to stay current with the latest driving technologies The current rules of the road, specific to your community How to manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time Many participants may qualify for a multi-year automobile insurance discount by completing the course (check with your auto insurance agent for details). There are no tests required to pass the course. This 4 hour course is open to drivers of all ages and costs $25 for AARP members and $30 for non-members. The class will be taught by certified volunteer instructor Gretchen Zerba Lessard. As of July 1, 2024, the State of Minnesota no longer requires the 8-hour course to be taken at the beginning.
