Nature Water Experiment - Each student will be able to test their theories by making a water filtration system with different materials. We will compare our experiments by running some clean water tests to see refuels! Very individual, hands-on, sensory-based class! Can you Survive? / Fire Master - Learn the basics of survival by building shelters & learning the properties of fire by attempting to make a mini fire by various methods Hunting through Time - Discover the many methods of hunting used from prehistoric times to "modern". Have fun putting many different types of tools & equipment to use in this fun, interactive, hands-on class! Track me if you can! - Learn all about what animals you can find in the cold Minnesota Winter! From the big to the small, we have it all. We'll hike around the area to discover tracks & if the weather is right, make a take-home print for each student! Come prepared for a fun outside adventure!

Quarter 3 will be an 7-week book study facilitated for parents with young children, focusing on "How Eskimos Keep Their Babies Warm And Other Adventures in Parenting" by Mei-Ling Hopgood. Led by Parent Educator, JoHannah Orman: This study offers a supportive environment where parents can connect, discuss, and explore the challenges all parents face: bedtimes, potty training, feeding, teaching, and more. This book study will provide a global perspective on parenting while experimenting with tried and true methods from around the world that prove there are many ways to be a good parent. Parents are responsible for purchasing the book. If you wish to participate and purchasing the book is a financial barrier, please contact our office so we may assist you.

Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports, and Community Education invites everyone to play! Whether you are new to the sport, haven’t picked up a paddle recently, or you’re a veteran player, you’ll find social pickleball to be fun and engaging. All games are self-officiated, and the teams will be determined by players. Prerequisite: Players must be able to rally and keep pace at a basic level. Equipment, paddles, and balls are provided courtesy of Community Education. Due to the high-demand for district athletic facilities, all play must end promptly at 8:30 pm

Music is the language of the soul. Join like minded people who enjoy creating music and sharing their passion with the community. Concert dates will be provided upon attendance. We welcome all new members who can sight read music and provide their own instruments (except percussion). Horns and Trombones are especially wanted!

RailHawks Preschool is a continuum of services offered by our Early Learning team for children preparing to transition to kindergarten the following year. Our nature preschool programs focus on nature-related thematic units, including insects, trees, seasons, hibernation, and more, as students continue their growth in literacy, math, science, and social-emotional learning in preparation for a successful learner. Reading Pals is a volunteer reading program connecting students at Hermantown and Proctor elementary schools with adult role models. This program meets once a week, allowing students to read to volunteers or listen to them read, with a focus on improving reading skills and building positive relationships. We will launch Reading Pals in the first week of October at all three locations: Bay View Elementary on Tuesdays, Pike Lake Elementary on Wednesdays, and Hermantown Elementary on Thursdays, running until the end of May.
