Civic Engagement
Take the leap and join us on a delightful adventure that combines learning, community service, and genuine fun. We'll create unforgettable memories that enrich our community and build strong connections. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by—let's make a meaningful impact together! We invite mentors from our community to participate in a program that connects talented middle and high school students with your life experiences and wisdom. Your support is essential! You will assist students with their homework and tutoring while sharing your unique stories. In return, students will help you in your yard, shovel snow, provide tech support for your cell phone or computer, or assist with other daily tasks to earn their Civic Engagement Credits necessary for graduation. Join us for this adventure that combines learning, community service, and fun. Together, you will create lasting memories and strengthen our community. Don’t miss out on this opportunity—let's make a difference together! If you would like to volunteer for this program, please contact Natascha Ellis at: nellis@proctor.k12.mn.us -

FIRST Lego League (FLL): 2025/2026 Season
HERMANTOWN FIRST LEGO LEAGUE CHALLENGE (FLLC): 2025–2026 SEASON What is FLL Challenge? Friendly competition is at the heart of the FIRST LEGO League Challenge (FLLC), where teams of students ages 9–14 (grades 4–9) explore real-world problems through research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering. Using LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime robots, teams design, build, and program a robot to complete missions in a themed Robot Game. In addition to the Robot Game, each team develops an Innovative Project — a creative solution to a real-world problem aligned with the season's theme. Visit the FIRST LEGO League website to learn more. TEAM LOGISTICS Teams consist of 6 or more students. Visit our site! Use the QR below! 2 volunteer parent coaches are required per team (Coaches must attend all practices and competitions.) Weekly meetings (schedule determined by each team’s coach) Scrimmages and weekend competitions vary by team interest SEASON TIMELINE – 2025–2026 July/August – Kits are ordered, and coaches begin communicating with families. COST $175 per student (Covers tournament registration and team shirts) INTERESTED IN COACHING? Hermantown LEGO League provides guidance, support, and resources to help parent volunteers run a team. We can only form teams with enough coaches, so please consider volunteering! Coaching is a fun and rewarding way to support students as they learn to collaborate, build, and problem-solve. No robotics or programming experience is required. Coaches act as facilitators — helping students explore the challenge, build the robot, conduct research, and practice FIRST Core Values. I’d like to have an all-girls Hermantown robotics team this season! I plan to host a coaching workshop in August to help all coaches get started. READY TO JOIN A TEAM?
