Mrs. Ronda began learning to cook at age 10 and grew up growing, harvesting, and preserving food. She brings years of restaurant experience, concession work, and large‑group cooking, along with deep knowledge of cooking, baking, prep, safety, and storage. This class teaches kids the fundamentals of preparing food and using kitchen tools safely. Students will explore new ingredients, build confidence, and expand their ideas about food through fun, hands‑on experiences. Each class date introduces a new recipe to try, or a new appliance or tool to learn to use safely and effectively. Students will read and follow recipes, interpret food labels, practice safe appliance use, sample everything they make, and bring home recipes to share with their families. Pricing includes food cost, supplies, & instructor expertise Note: Classes and food will not be adapted for specific dietary needs or allergens at this time.

In this hands‑on crafting class, kids will explore a variety of fun materials as they cut, glue, paint, and build their way through projects designed to spark confidence and joy. Each session blends simple techniques with big creativity, giving children the chance to make something they’re proud of while enjoying time together in a welcoming, encouraging space. Whether your child loves glitter, paper, yarn, or all things crafty, they’ll have a blast creating alongside Ms. Flynn — and they’ll bring home a new masterpiece each week. Experiment in the wonderful world of ceramics through this two-session workshop! This is a perfect opportunity for kids to learn the basics of ceramic hand building techniques and get their young hands into air-dry clay. Young artists will use their imagination to create unique masterpieces of their own, including pinch and coil pots, mini bowls, and more. The first session will be for sculpting our pieces and the second session will be use to paint and finish our clay pieces. Please note that all items are air-dry and no potter’s wheels or kilns will be used during these sessions.

Join us for an exciting Youth Cribbage Club designed for students in grades 3-5, led by Hermantown Elementary teacher Abigail Kipka! This club offers a fun opportunity to learn and master the classic card game of Cribbage, enhancing your strategic thinking and math skills while making new friends.

The camp will empower students to master drone flying. Participants will develop essential control and navigation skills, whether they are beginners or have some experience. Each day will feature exciting challenges like obstacle courses and precision landings, culminating in a thrilling drone-flying competition. Drone Fee: A $45 drone fee is payable by check or Venmo to the instructor on the first day of camp. Each student gets to keep their drone at the end of the week!

Early Learning hosts many pop-up events at minimal cost or free throughout the year to bring families from our communities together. This is an opportunity to spend quality time with your child(ren) participating in activities that are age-appropriate and joyous for children. We encourage all our families with young children to get out and explore the world through their eyes! Pop-up events are also a great way for families to participate in early learning if an ECFE class is not feasible for your family. It is also a great time to check in with our early childhood experts and ask questions about our programs, parenting questions, and learn more about your child's development. All our events are planned by our early learning staff because we enjoy helping families grow, and we know how essential it is to strengthen the family bond. Each event is one night only.

This class is dedicated to children of mixed ages and caregivers who want to learn, play, and grow together. It's a great way to connect through play-based learning, songs, stories, and hands-on activities that support early learning and social-emotional growth. Families stay together in the classroom as they continue learning and playing alongside the early childhood staff. Our licensed parent educator will also provide supportive resources on topics such as child development, routines, behavior, and family life. Early Childhood Screening is a brief, simple process used to identify potential health or developmental problems in young children. It includes a review of height, weight, vision, hearing, speech, social and emotional progress and overall development. Screening in early childhood supports children's readiness for kindergarten and promotes positive child health and developmental outcomes through referrals to early learning opportunities. Note: Screenings are typically most successful at 3 years and 6 months of age; however, if you have any developmental concerns, please feel free to register. Be sure to sign in or create your account before selecting your screening appointment. You must also "check out" in order to finalize your "purchase", even though there is NO COST to screening.
