Amtrak-Will Get You There – EventuallyAdult Enriching Generations TogetherExplore what cities Amtrak services (over 500) in 46 states and 2 provinces in Canada. Randy will have many handouts and visit about his 10 years of Amtrak Travel covering 21 different train trips and almost 91,000 miles. He will not sugar coat it but will give you the good and bad. He will tell you what to bring, what you can eat on the train and what not to do. He will talk about the Amtrak web page, how to make reservations and what Facebook pages you may want to join. You will see the different cars and the two different kinds of trains you can take. He will show some videos and will conduct the class as an open class, meaning you may ask questions whenever you want to. After the class he will make his phone number and email address available to the class for future help making reservations and to answer any questions that you might have. DASH MLS Mini Soccer leagueRailHawks Sports, Fitness & RecreationDASH Sports MLS GO Summer Soccer Mini-Leagues provide players a well-rounded soccer experience covering a broad range of soccer skills (dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense), training and scrimmages, and games. This camp consists of one day of skills training followed by 3 days of games (2 per day for a total of 6 games). Athletes should wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle and a snack (spikes and shin guards are optional). Balls are provided. DASH NFL Flag Football CampRailHawks Enrichment & DevelopmentDASH Sports officially licensed NFL flag football camps provide players with a well-rounded football experience in a little to no contact safe environment. Key elements of passing, catching, rushing, and defense will be taught and practiced daily, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with scrimmages/games the final day where players can showcase their skills. Each player has the option to add an official NFL Flag Jersey and flag belts to keep ($30 additional). Players that add the jersey and belts will pick the jersey of their favorite NFL team at the time of registration. FIRST Lego League (FLL): 2026/2027 SeasonRAILHAWKS STEAMHERMANTOWN FIRST LEGO LEAGUE CHALLENGE (FLLC): 2025–2026 SEASON Friendly competition is at the heart of FLL Challenge, as teams of students ages 9-14 engage in research, problem-solving, coding, engineering, building, and programming. A LEGO® Education SPIKE Prime robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. Teams also design an innovative solution to a real-world problem relevant to the theme as part of the Challenge. Visit their website to learn more about the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Challenge. The Coaches determine team meeting schedules and the level of participation. TEAM LOGISTICS 6 or more students per team 2 parent volunteer coaches per team (coaches must attend practices and competitions) The team attends weekly meetings Attend scrimmages and competitions on weekends based on the team's interest 2026-2027 FIRST LEGO Season: July/August: Kits are ordered, and coaches send information to their team members about practice schedules. August 31st: FIRST FLL Challenge is released and the season officially starts!. The cost to participate is $175 per student. This will cover costs for tournament registration and team shirts July 31st is the registration deadline for the 2026-27 season. Who: Students ages 9-14 (4th-9th grade) INTERESTED IN COACHING? Hermantown Lego League provides guidance, support, and resources to run an FLL team. Please consider coaching a team. I can only run teams if I have volunteer coaches. I would love to have an all-girls robotics team this year! Coaching a FIRST LEGO League team is a rewarding experience! As an FLL coach, you can empower students with a sense of accomplishment by helping them know they have full ownership of the solution they create. Team members are responsible for all research, documentation, programming, and building. The coach acts as a facilitator, guiding the children in building a robot, conducting research, and developing core values. Knowledge about robotics or programming is not required to be a coach.
